About Me

My photo
I’m a stay at home mother of two beautiful children, Zoey and Zane. I spend most of my days wiping butts and cleaning up…but what can I say I love every minute of it. I love the time I get to spend each day with my children thanks to God and my wonderful husband. This blog is about our daily happenings at the Blakley Ranch. Hope you enjoy!

Peeps...

Everyone loves Peeps…right??? Well, in all honesty I have NEVER eaten a Peep. I love sweets. However, I have never been a big marshmallow fan...unless it’s melted into chocolate between two graham crackers. Sorry, I was having a weak moment for a second there. Despite my lack of Peep experience, Zoey and I made these cute Easter treats for the girls in her dance class.

I found this creative idea from the ladies over at eighteen25 and thought it was too cute to pass up.

I hope everyone has a great Easter holiday!

Fairyland...

This month my baby girl turned four. Boy, how time flies. She is growing up so fast. She has almost finished her first year of pre-school, she no longer needs a stool to wash her hands, and she can even button her own clothes. All these changes are sometimes hard for me to accept. She’s my first born and she will always be my baby. However, I know my baby is turning into a more independent little girl. Speaking of independent, Miss. Zoey picked her own birthday theme this year…FAIRIES!!

With the help of my Aunt Vicki, we were able to pull out all the stops and turn my grandmother’s backyard into Zoey’s fairyland.

When the guests arrived they put on flower headbands, tutus, and fairy wings. We had friends, family, and fairies of all ages join in the birthday fun.

Add cupcakes, wands, and fairy dust and you can make any little girl’s fairy wishes come true.

My husband, Joey, took the girls for a ride on his first pony, Buttermilk. Let’s not forget the karaoke machine…boy, do those girls love to "Party in the USA". As you can tell, my daughter is no stranger to the microphone.

No birthday is complete without presents. Zoey loves all her gifts.

My little fairy was worn out by the end of the day and was having some major wardrobe malfunctions.

However, she informed me that this was the “best birthday”. I want to say a special thanks to all of you who helped make her day so special!

A Great Day for Pictures...

If you read my last post, you know that one of my daughter’s best friends, Katelyn, is currently battling Neuroblastoma. Well, I recently got to spend some time with Miss. Katelyn. This little girl and her sister, Laura Beth, are two of the sweetest kiddos around. Their mom, Christa, recently asked me to take a few pictures of the girls. They make my job easy…Katelyn’s blue eyes and gorgeous smile capture my heart every time.

Let me tell you, this little girl has no lack of sass or spunk. She always makes me laugh.

Laura Beth’s blond hair and personality brighten up any picture! Not to mention, I get my workout every time I take pictures of Laura Beth…that girl is on the move (LOL)!

I love this family and I can never say enough about them. I hope the more I talk about them the more people pray for their situation. I know God listens and this is just my way of spreading the word…one prayer at a time! I hope my posts about Katelyn and her family opens your heart and makes you thankful for everything in life!!! I know every time I’m around this family, I see how positive they are and how blessed they are to have each other!

Which in turn, makes me feel grateful for the many blessings I have in my own life and how lucky my daughter is to have such a great friendship with this little girl.

This family is currently going through a difficult time and making some tough decisions. Please keep them in your prayers. Follow the Connor’s at http://ourturkey.blogspot.com/.

A Very Special Gift...

Today, Zoey received a VERY SPECIAL present from one of her best friends, Katelyn Connor…a magic wand!!! What a precious girl. Zoey misses spending time with Katelyn and this wand made her day!

If you don’t know Katelyn check out my post A Special Little Girl from May 2009. You can also follow this family at http://www.ourturkey.blogspot.com. Katelyn has really been on my mind lately and I think about this family daily. Katelyn has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma and is currently going through another round of chemotherapy. So, today I want to keep things on a light note. I want Katelyn to look at these pictures and smile! I want her to know that she has friends who are thinking about her and missing her bunches. We love you Katelyn!!!
