Nine months old…we are three quarters through Zane’s first year. Time has flown by; however, these summer months have been so much fun. He has been swimming several times and seems to really enjoy it.
He spends most of his days chasing after Zoey…they are so cute together. Zane has really become a Daddy’s boy over the past month. When Joey comes home from his stretch at the rig Zane is glued to his side.
Zane’s primary word is still “Daddy” but I do get to hear him say “Mama” occasionally. He has also learned how to wave "bye-bye". He weighed 21 pounds and 10 ounces at his well child visit and is 30 ¼ inches long. Zane has four teeth and is eating stage three baby food. However, he really prefers our food. When we are eating he hangs onto our legs and grunts…that’s his way of saying he wants a bite. Baby boy tries to put EVERYTHING in his mouth!
Zane finally understand the word “No”. He is still not sleeping through the night but spends most of it in his bed. He wakes up every morning with a smile on his face...he and his sister can really make my day. I feel truly blessed.

Fishing With the Boys...
My husband, Joey, made a promise to our nephew, Darren, that he would take him fishing...“just the guys." He made good on that promise but it did not end up being just the guys…one little blonde girl had to tag along.
They headed over to West Production Ranch in hopes of catching a few fish in the pond. Joey was the first to reel one in.
Darren soon followed.
Zoey did not hesitate one bit when it came to holding Darren’s catch…if fact she requested it…needless to say I was shocked. This is the same child that lets out a piercing scream when she hears a June bug.
Uncle Joe tried to pull a fast one on Darren…saying he caught the bigger fish. Good thing Aunt E was there with the camera to document the evidence for later review. As you can see Joe’s fish had nothing on Darren’s. Zoey had a great time fishing with the boys.
However, she mentioned that next time she needs a pink fishing pole!
