Fall Festival Fun...

In honor of the letter "F" and the fall season. Zoey's pre-school class had a Fall Festival. Zoey wore her autumn fairy costume for the event.

Zoey was so excited to bring the Minnie Mouse pumpkin she made for the pumpkin decorating contest. All the kids had such cute pumpkins.

My aunt and I worked the Duck Pond and Pick-A-Pop booths.

The kids had a great time. Their first stop was the butterfly joy jump.

Next, was the bubble booth. This was definitely a favorite for the kids.

My favorite station was the apple decorating booth. What a cute idea!!!

The kids had a great time making faces on their apples with icing, candy, and sprinkles. It didn't hurt that you got to eat your creation!

Zoey enjoyed the make-up and face-painting stations. She had her hair sprayed pink, her nails painted, and a cupcake painted on her face.

I think the most memorable event was the chocolate pudding eating competition. The kids had a race to see who could eat all the pudding off their plate first without using their hands.

These smiles made the pudding mess well worth it!

A Happy Halloween...

October has always been one of my favorite months. I love the cooler air, the pumpkins, and Halloween. The highlight for me this October was watching my two babies trick-or-treat. I loved the way Zoey held Zane's hand and helped him to each door. I treasure moments like this!

After much debate, Zoey decided to dress up like a mermaid this Halloween.

When I saw this baby duck costume I could not pass it up!

Hannah Montana (aka: Kate Hagaman) joined us for trick-or-treating around the square.

Zoey and Kate are great friends! I think these girls used a whole can of glitter spray between the two of them.
All three children had one mission...CANDY!!!

By the time we left the town square, Zane had eaten nearly a whole sucker...wrapper and all!

Ms. Montana said her bucket was even too heavy to carry. To top the sugar high off....Halloween cupcakes.

It made one Mama's day watching these kiddos have such a happy Halloween!!!

It's That Time of Year...

Fall has always been my favorite time of year. I don't know if it's the cooler weather, fall foliage, or the pumpkins. I think it's a little bit of each. Not to mention, fall is the start of the holiday season...and yummy food! I do know one thing, the changing weather gave me a great excuse to slap a hat on my precious daughter and head outside.

Being out of town for the weekend gave us a change of scenery and had my creative juices flowing. Zoey was pretty cooperative herself...might have been the $5.00 bribe and a promised trip to the Dollar Store. No matter what the reason, we had fun and came home with some of my favorite pictures of Zoey.

I had a hard time narrowing down the pictures to post on my blog. I love them ALL...mostly because I feel like they express Zoey's personality. What do they say..."A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words."

Girly Girls...

Last weekend, we were invited to McKenna's fourth birthday party. Around our house we love to celebrate birthdays. What's not to love...cake, ice cream, presents...did I mention cake?

McKenna's birthday theme was right up Zoey's alley...girly girl princess party!!

All the girls had such a great time. The first thing on the agenda...dress up. All the girls went through an assortment of dress up clothes to find the perfect outfit.

Zoey ended up in a purple tutu and a pair of fairy wings. After dress up, the girls headed over to the tiara station where they could add a little bling to their crowns.

Last but not least, it was time for a little fingernail painting.

Zoey's color choice...purple. What a fun day...these girls had the time of their lives!!

Thanks McKenna for letting Zoey and I be a part of your special day.

Eleven Months...

I know I'm a little late in posting this, but Zane is eleven months old. He has grown so much over the past month. He has mastered the sippy cup, he has seven teeth, and a head full of hair. His hair has gotten very curly on the back ends, and I love it!!!

Last but not least, he's WALKING!!! Yes, I said it...he's walking. Once baby boy learned how he's been trucking ever since. He now refuses to eat baby food and really only wants a bottle at bedtime. He simply wants to eat and drink what mom, dad, and sister have. Zane and Zoey's food preferences are so different. Zoey is a meat and potato kind of girl. Zane is all about the bread and pasta. He's a little more picky, but no doubt about it...he LOVES sweets. It's a good thing he likes to brush his teeth too.

Mentioning sister, Zane follows her around like a little puppy. He wants to do whatever she is doing. Zoey has her moments when she has had her feel of him...like when he's eaten her most recent masterpiece. The two of them are so cute together. Zane gets so excited each morning when we go into Zoey's room to wake her up for school, and she always greets him with a smile and "good morning". I have the best kids, and I feel like God has truly blessed my family!

I Love This Family…

If you have not read about the Connor’s on my blog your missing out. They are a great family and I have fallen in love with their two children, Katelyn and Laura Beth. This family has gone through their share of hard times over the past year. Their three year old daughter, Katelyn, was diagnosed with cancer. Katelyn and her parents are in and out of the hospital as Katelyn undergoes treatment. They are often away from their youngest daughter, Laura Beth, which is difficult for the entire family. When Christa called me and asked me to take Laura Beth’s one year pictures I was thrilled. When you go through difficult times you learn to really appreciate the little things in life…like a little girl turning one!!!

Let me tell you, this cutie gave me a run for my money. She would not stand up, cried if any part of her body touched the grass, and hated the headbands I put on her head. The heat, humidity, and two bouts of rain did not help the situation. I could not get her to even look my way unless I barked like a dog or jumped up and down clapping my hands. I was definitely getting some curious glances from the people across the street.

However, after a few rounds of peek-a-boo and a tickle here and there this sweet little girl was all smiles!!

Please keep the Connor’s in your prayers. You can follow their story at http://www.ourturkey.blogspot.com/.

The End of Week One...

It’s official, Zoey has completed her first week of preschool. I’m so proud of her for adjusting to her new routine so smoothly. She only had one glitch that occurred on the second day of school…she had to sit in time out for not sharing. However, after a good talk from Mom and Dad (via phone) the rest of the week went very well. She rushed to the door of the school house each morning. She didn't even glance back as she went to sit in her seat. I was barley able to get a goodbye out of her as she became engrossed in whatever activity Mrs. Connie had awaiting them. Zoey was very busy this week and made several great art projects including this school bus.

She also practiced spelling and writing her first and last name.

Of coarse, you can’t complete the first week of school without learning the letter "A".

Zoey did several crafts that started with the letter "A"...she painted this alligator her favorite color

...she made this apple wheel…and an alligator puppet, which she reported was her favorite project this week.

Last but not least, Zoey was able to pick a toy out of the treasure chest today. I was not surprised one bit when Zoey excitedly showed me her treasure box pick…a pack of plastic dinosaurs. I love that about her!
